Supplements fighters actually use in 2026

Recovery drinks and electrolytes after training

The supplement industry talks to fighters like we are stupid and rich. We are sometimes one of those. Here is the short list I will spend money on, and the pile I will not.

King Killers gear links are our store. Amazon product links below are Associates links (tag michaelhecker-20).

Key takeaways

  • Creatine monohydrate is still the one worth buying first.
  • Whey is food insurance, not a personality.
  • Caffeine works. Stacking five pre-workouts does not.
  • Tested athletes: NSF Certified for Sport, or skip it.
  • Peptides, SARMs, and "research chems" are a different article, and a different risk.

Creatine monohydrate

Five grams a day. Drink water. Ignore loading phases unless you like GI issues. Look for Creapure or a brand that publishes a lot number. I do not cycle it. The ISSN creatine position stand is the paper people wave around if you want to read something denser than a label.

Whey or a mixed protein

I use whey when I am between meals. If dairy wrecks you, use a mixed plant or isolate. Protein powder does not build a fighter. It stops you from skipping food after a second session.

Electrolytes

Sodium, potassium, some flavor so you drink it. I do not care which pouch is trending this month. If it tastes like perfume I will not use it. If you are in a hard cut, your coach owns the sodium plan, not a sachet brand.

Caffeine

Coffee or a simple caffeine pill. I cut it after early afternoon or I will not sleep. Sleep is a better performance drug than any pre-workout with a skull on it.

Omega-3 and vitamin D

I take both because bloodwork said I should, not because a podcast did. Get labs. Do not mega-dose.

Beta-alanine

The tingle is real. The benefit for repeated hard rounds is modest. I use it sometimes in camp. I would not skip creatine to afford it.

What is trending that I will not recommend

SARMs. Unapproved peptides sold as recovery. Fat burners with a dozen stimulants. Anything that says "not for human consumption" on the same page it tells you how to inject it. If you compete, read the FDA peptide rules before you let a clinic bro sell you a vial.

If you want third-party tested tubs

Look for NSF Certified for Sport or Informed Sport. Momentous and a few others play in that lane. I still cannot drop an affiliate URL for them until the brand approves King Killers. Apply links live in our ops notes, not on this page.

Train in kit that survives camp

If you are already in camp, skip the fashion drop and grab the Fight Camp Kit or dry-fit rash guards. Free USA shipping over $100. 30-day returns.

Questions I get

Will creatine make me miss weight?

It can add a little water. Talk to your cut coach. Most people still use it until late camp.

Can I take a pre-workout instead of eating?

No.

What if I am drug tested?

Food first. NSF-certified basics. Nothing from a Telegram vendor.
